Hey guys as
we know I recently read the Darth Vader Graphic novel just got to the end and
the final story inside really showed another side of Darth Vader Now this is my
interpretation of the story if I’m wrong I’m wrong but this is the way I see it.
This story was set about I’d just before Rogue one. It begins on Scarif with
Tarkin bringing his Storm Trooper guards into the vault where all the Imperial plans
and schematics are kept to catch Darth Vader looking at the plans for project
star dust also known as the Deathstar.
Vader did
not like being questioned by Tarkin infact Vader seriously thought about
killing him until the Emperor himself The Emperor was not to happy that Vader
went to Scarif without his say so, The emperor also informed Vader he’s to obey
tarkin without question. Vader of course has to obey the Emperor. However Vader
already shown he had serious concerns about the development of this Space
Station he is then ordered to Geonosis to investigate who is sabotaging the
Empire's attempt at getting building material for the Space station. As Vader
investigated interacting with Director Krennic who was clean it wasn’t Galen
Erso either at the time Galen Erso truly believed he was building just a space
station at the time being a Pacifist. The Saboteurs were surviving Geonosians
lead by a Queen Vader made short work of them. But once Vader found the Kyber
crystals shards in Galen’s office. Vader then figured out what the Emperor was
really building it was no simple Space station it was a planet killer.
Vader
confronted Tarkin on this fact who assumed the only reason Darth Vader doesn’t
want this weapon complete is because Darth Vader wouldn’t be the most feared
weapon thing the Empire has anymore. But no I think it’s more than that.
I truly
believe Vader didn’t want the Empire to start wiping out Civilizations. Vader
knew if this Death star was finished the Empire would start killing billions
upon billions of people. Don’t get me wrong Vader is a ruthless killer but he
has only killed anyone who he considers a direct threat to either himself or the
Empire. Rebel soldiers surviving Jedi and Padawans his fellow Imperial’s when
they try to undermine him Vader has never killed Innocent civilians. I mean
innocent civilians not civilians on the run from the empire who are technically
criminals there’s a difference.
Not to
mention a weapon like this goes completely against Vader’s beliefs who believed
the only weapon the Empire needed was him and the Dark side of the Force.
Anyway at
the end of the comic Galen Erso’s wife who is out looking for more Kyber
crystals suddenly gets a message from an Imperial droid who tells her what she
and her husband are really building is a planet killer and will kill billions
the imperial droid then self-destructs. This makes her run to her husband and
child Jyn and they flee the empire as shown in the beginning of Rogue one. Now
I believe it was Vader himself who gave the droid the message. I’m sure the
Emperor, Krennic and Tarkin didn’t do it they all wanted the Death star
finished. Darth Vader is the only one who didn’t want the Death star completed.
Now if
that’s the case! That if Vader caused Galen’s desertion of the Empire and
eventual sabotage of the Death star in Rogue one that makes me see Darth
Vader’s actions in a new hope in a whole new light.
Such as when
he says don’t be too proud of this technological terror you have constructed
the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the force.
It all seems
to fit at least how I see it I mean then Vader tracks the Millenium Falcon to
Yavin 4 where the Rebels are hiding.
Practically hand-delivering the Death Star have at it boys! Does this make Vader a traitor to the Empire from his point of view because Vader has his own view on what the Empire should be and Vader never betrayed his vision of what the Empire is
